9/18/11: Switching back to a Boston shot. Can't stay on the devastation from the tornado and the hurricanes for too long. Hope this is a little bit of a happier shot. Well, not happy per se, but not depressing...
This shot shows some of the damage from Hurricane Irene. I took this when I visited my father in southern Vermont. You can see the roots of the trees hanging down and the layers of rock and dirt from the landslide. The flood waters rose high enough to double the width of rivers, to make creeks into raging rivers, and to eat up the land, making roads impassable. I hope you can see some of that devastation here in this image. I posted more to another gallery: http://www.rpckphotos.com/Nature/Hurricane-Irene/19066359_D97t3z#1483171951_FPxrdPt
Before Hurricane Irene hit, my daughter and I went on a mini-vacation to Foxborough and Boston. The wind was so strong she thought she would be blown away. This is SOOC. Thank you for all the comments on my carousel horse close-up yesterday. They were much appreciated. I took that shot at the Frog Pond and Spray Park in Boston Common.
